General Secretary To Lam sends Lunar New Year greetings to Hanoi’s Party, authorities and people

Hanoi is expected to remain at the forefront of implementing central government policies, driving innovation, and advancing the city’s economic, cultural, and social development.

Party General Secretary To Lam on the evening of January 28 visited and extended his heartfelt New Year wishes to the Party, government, and people of the capital.

His visit, just before the arrival of the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025, was welcomed by Hanoi Party Chief Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh, and other local officials.

In his New Year address, General Secretary To Lam revealed that before visiting the Hanoi Party Committee, he inspected the preparations for the people of Hanoi to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025.

"Hanoi is beautiful and peaceful. Both the residents and foreign visitors are eagerly awaiting the sacred moment of the Lunar New Year," General Secretary To Lam remarked. "The spring atmosphere in Hanoi signals a new year filled with new successes."

He also commended the achievements of Hanoi's Party, government, and people over the past year. "Hanoi has accomplished many proud milestones and successfully met its development goals and targets," the General Secretary stated.

According to General Secretary To Lam, the year 2025 holds significant importance with several major political events, including the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification. This year will also see the organization of party congresses at various levels in preparation for the 14th National Party Congress.

“As the political and administrative center of the country, Hanoi plays a crucial role and bears a heavy responsibility,” he said.

He affirmed that Hanoi will be the first to implement the newest and most advanced policies. He expressed his hopes that the Party, authorities, and people of Hanoi will build on their past successes, exemplify leadership, and continue to take the lead in implementing central government policies, fostering innovation, and advancing the city’s economic, cultural, and social development.

The Party Chief expressed his strong belief that with the concerted efforts of the entire Party and people, and with Hanoi leading by example, the country will continue to develop, become more prosperous, and ensure that all citizens benefit from the fruits of this progress.

He extended his heartfelt New Year wishes to the Party, authorities, and people of Hanoi, hoping they would celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Snake with joy and happiness, and that the year ahead would bring many new victories and achievements.

On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam also visited Major General Huynh Dac Huong, 105, a member of the Party for 85 years. He offered his best wishes for the Lunar New Year, expressing deep respect for his contributions and remarkable life. Huong is a former Head of the Vietnamese Expert Delegation in Laos and former Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
