THE HANOI TIMES — Vibrant cultural and artistic performances amused Hanoians and tourists as the “Hanoi International Cultural and Artistic Exchange 2025” kicked off on November 21 at the Ba Kieu Temple garden area in the city’s Hoan Kiem Ward.

The event highlighted the capital’s growing role in advancing cultural diplomacy and strengthening international exchange and cooperation.

Artists from Laos, Russia, China, India, Mongolia and Vietnam delivered energetic, colorful performances, offering audiences a lively blend of traditional and contemporary art.

Organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in collaboration with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations, the program aimed to create a cultural bridge, celebrate friendship among nations and promote the distinctive cultural identities of Vietnam and its international partners.

It also conveyed a message of solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam, especially Hanoi, and the global community.

The event welcomed foreign diplomats from Palestine, Argentina, Laos and China, India, Cambodia, Mongolia and the Philippines, as well as central and Hanoi officials and representatives from international institutions.

The program promoted the image of Hanoi, a thousand-year-old capital rich in heritage yet dynamic and creative, to international friends. It reaffirmed the city's reputation as a “City for Peace”, a “Creative City" and a safe, friendly and attractive destination.

Performances took audiences on a journey through Vietnam’s beauty, expressed through a modern lens that still preserved national traditions. They also showcased the musical diversity of the country’s three regions, paired with melodies from international artists to create a rich cultural dialogue.

The event was also a gesture of appreciation from Vietnamese artists and Hanoi residents to international delegates and friends living, studying and working in the city.

The program guided the audience through an emotional journey that unfolded in three interconnected chapters. It opened with “Hello Vietnam”, a welcoming segment that introduced international guests to the vibrancy, warmth and cultural depth of the Vietnamese spirit.

The experience then transitioned into “Cultural Bridge” where diplomats, artists and visitors from many countries came together in a shared artistic space, using music and performance to express cultural diversity, mutual understanding and human connection.

The journey concluded with “Melodies of Connection and Sharing”, a sequence of musical pieces that conveyed aspirations for peace, compassion and global unity.

During the event, the organizers also announced a donation of VND100 million (US$3,800) to support people affected by recent storms and floods. The contribution will be handed over to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi.
