The contest seeks to inspire national pride, solidarity, and friendship between Hanoi and its international friends.

HANOITIMES — Under the theme “I Love Hanoi – City for Peace,” the 2025 International Children’s Painting Contest officially kicked off on August 5 at the Hanoi Cultural Center and Library.

The event is co-organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations (HAUFO) in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of National Day.

It promises to be a vibrant and meaningful platform for children, fostering artistic passion and creativity.

Aimed at children aged 6 to 15 living and studying in Hanoi, the contest offers a space for young artists to express their love for their homeland and their vision of a peaceful world, free from war, poverty, and disease.

Submissions will be accepted from August 15 to September 10, 2025. Each participant may submit up to three entries on A3-sized paper, using materials of their choice, including watercolor, crayons, markers, gouache, among others.

The award ceremony is scheduled for September 20. The exhibition will be open to the public at the Hanoi Cultural Center and Library from September 22 to October 10.

According to the organizers, through vibrant and innocent brushstrokes, participants can become ambassadors of peace, delivering messages of compassion and unity to the international community.

“This contest is a platform for children to showcase their talent and passion for painting, at the same time promoting messages of peace, friendship, and international solidarity,” said Nguyen Nam Hai, Vice President of HAUFO.

“We hope the event will receive strong support from students, schools, parents, and international organizations and partners, contributing to strengthening friendship between Vietnam and countries around the world,” Hai said.
