Good preparations for qualified candidates: State President

Holding the election that ensures democracy and solidarity will help choose representatives who deserve political missions required in the new era for the prosperous country, Mr. Trong made the statement at the nationwide online meeting on January 21.

The meeting is aimed to launch preparations for the election of the National Assembly’s deputies and representatives of the People’s Council at all levels.

The election will take place on May 23, 2021.

Mr. Trong, when stating before the personnel for key leadership positions, has laid stress on the importance of selecting morally and professionally qualified candidates, saying that unqualified officials, if chosen to the leadership, would be disaster for the Party and do harm to the country and people.

The nationwide meeting was chaired by Chairwoman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan who is also the Chairwoman of the National Election Council.

Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Executive Member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, NA Deputy Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, and Head of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man.

In each locality, heads of the Party Committee, the People’s Council, and the People’s Committee attended the meeting.

In Hanoi, the attendees are Chairman of the People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen, Chairman of the People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, among others.
