“Successes of South Korean businesses in Hanoi contribute to the development of Vietnam in recent years,” Thanh said.

Thanh also noted the city remains committed to supporting and keeping close communication with South Korean companies to ensure their projects are being implemented efficiently and in line with regulations.

He expected more activities between Hanoi and South Korean localities to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, suggesting the year 2022 to be meaningful for people from both countries regarding the strong partnership between Vietnam and South Korea.

Ambassador Park expressed his impression of the strong development of Hanoi, and also his appreciation for the support of local authorities to the South Korean Embassy over the years.

According to Park, bilateral relations have gone from strength to strength. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (December 22, 1992 – December 22, 2022), he added many cultural and exchange activities have been taking place in both countries, contributing to greater understanding and close ties between people from Vietnam and South Korea.

Referring to the trade turnover target of US$100 billion for this year, Park called for more support from local authorities for South Korean businesses in the city.

In this regard, Park suggested the city help facilitate large-scale projects from South Korean corporations in the city, such as Charmvit, Lotte, ATM, and Hyundai.

Park also sent his thanks to the local authorities for supporting the South Korean community to overcome difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic.
