Nguyen Ngoc Son, the Deputy Director of Hanoi's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, told The Hanoi Times that the northern province needs to better implement quality management, food security, and technological cooperation plans and programs, as well as develop the supply chain of safe agricultural products and food for the capital city.

He stressed that the province should strengthen large-scale production and deploy high-tech and sustainable production chains in line with GAP, GMP, and HACCP standards.

Delegates at the conference also presented the results of the cooperation program in the agricultural field between the two sides over the past time. Many programs, fairs, and forums hosted by the capital city have helped enhance the connection between farmers and hospitality businesses.

Thanks to this, key products such as Song Da fish, Cao Phong oranges, Tan Lac red grapefruit, organic vegetables, and hill chicken from Hoa Binh province have been sold in the city’s supermarkets and retail systems.

The Hoa Binh Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has signed with the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Agricultural Trade Promotion Center cooperation agreements, with focuses on developing a supply chain of safe farm produce with traceability stamps and promoting the sale of safe agricultural, forestry and fishery products.

Enterprises of the two localities also signed 10 memoranda of understanding linking agricultural production with consumption. After Hanoi, Hoa Binh is the second province to build a system of traceability, anti-counterfeiting authentication, and supply-demand connection on the website hb.check.net.vn.

The northern province has 100 OCOP products made by 81 manufacturers rated with three stars and over by Hoa Binh Provincial People's Committee. There are 46 certified and protected trademarks on the market as well as 100 production and business establishments certified for the safe supply chain.
