THE HANOI TIMES — The task force will oversee the development of a master plan to ensure a safe, continuous, and equitable water supply in all parts of the city.

The group includes senior leaders from the departments of Construction, Public Security, Finance, Planning and Architecture, Health, Industry and Trade, and other relevant agencies.

Key players from the city’s water supply network, including Hanoi Clean Water One Member Co., Ltd., Ha Dong Water Company, Viwaco JSC, Song Da Water Investment JSC, and Duong River Surface Water JSC, also make up the task force.

One of the task force's core missions is to combat water loss and unaccounted-for water, both of which remain significant challenges in old and newly developed areas. The task force will suggest solutions based on international practices to ensure Hanoi’s urban sustainability goals.

This plan demonstrates Hanoi’s mounting emphasis on ensuring the security of essential services, particularly in light of climate change, rapid urbanization, and the increasing demand for public utilities. Specific roles in implementation and enforcement will be assigned to local governments at the grassroots levels.
