The campaign targets at-risk children who have missed previous doses or have incomplete immunization histories.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi aims to immunize at least 95% of eligible children during the third phase of its 2025 measles vaccination campaign, which will cover all 30 districts and towns from late April to mid-May.

In Plan No. 118/KH-UBND signed on April 26 by Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha, the third round of citywide measles vaccination targets several groups: children aged six months to under nine months who were not vaccinated in previous phases, children aged 11-15 years living in high-risk areas, and those with unknown vaccination history or prior infection who wish to receive a dose.

Meanwhile, vaccination of children under nine months will take place in 100% of communes, wards, and townships in Hanoi. The 11-15 age group in high and very high risk areas will be the main target.

The program will be rolled out in two phases with the first completed by April 30 and the second by May 15, depending on vaccine allocation by the Ministry of Health and local conditions.

To ensure the safety and effectiveness of the campaign, the Hanoi Department of Health is responsible for overseeing implementation before, during and after the campaign. It will also coordinate with the Department of Education and Training to organize vaccination in schools for the 11- to 15-year-old age group.

The campaign will include extensive media outreach, training of health workers, proper vaccine storage and distribution, and emergency teams at each vaccination site. Localities will follow the safety protocols outlined in Decree No. 104/2016/ND-CP and Decree No. 155/2018/ND-CP, with strict oversight of post-vaccination monitoring and reporting.
