Hanoi - Israel to promote high-tech agricultural development cooperation

On June 2, Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung met with the Israel Ambassador to Vietnam - Ms. Meirav Eilon Sahahar for a courtesy visit. Attending the meeting, there also were representatives from departments and a number of Israel companies.

At the meeting, the two sides expressed their pleasure that in recent years, the friendly relations between Israel and Vietnam, have been increasingly consolidated on economic cooperation, cultural exchanges. Congratulatiing Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung on his new position, Ambassador Meirav Eilon Sahahar said that Israel already has investment enterprises with a number of projects in Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general, but the scale is still small, has not commensurate with the potential of the two countries and Hanoi yet.

According to the Ambassador, many Israeli businesses will invest in the development projects of Vietnam and Hanoi, which focus on water treatment, pollution, high-tech development in agriculture. The Ambassador wishes Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee to create favorable conditions for the activities of Israel Embassy, as well as businesses in order to promote friendly relations between the two countries, with Hanoi, as well as expanding cooperation in economic development, trade and attracting investment for development.

Thanked for the good feelings of the Israeli Ambassador Meirav Eilon Sahahar, City Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that Hanoi will develop policy to strengthen investment, high-tech applications in agricultural development, environmental remediation, energy conservation; training human resources to build electronic government. The Ambassador wants to attend, support and assistance. By the way, the City Chairman informed that on June 4, the city will host the conference "Hanoi 2016 - Investment and Development Cooperation", to attract domestic and foreign investors, the Israel Ambassador will inform the event for Israeli investors to participate.

Ambassador Meirav Eilon Sahahar and representatives of the Israeli companies thanked for the attention of city leaders and agreed with the proposal of the Chairman of Hanoi City, pledged to speed up the training project for human resources (start-up ecosystem), introduced investors and large enterprises to support investment for Hanoi development, application and transferring high technologies to develop high-quality agriculture, environmental remediation, clean energy and so on. At the mean time doing their best to promote relations of friendship and cooperation in economic development, culture between the two countries and Hanoi Capital in the coming period.
