Early this morning, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai worked alongside residents of Xuan Dinh Ward in the campaign.
Together with ward officials and a large number of locals, she swept streets, collected trash, and trimmed greenery along the streets of Residential Group 13. She also handed out gifts and encouraged residents to take part in the meaningful initiative.
"The cleanup campaign was only the first step and should be accompanied by stronger enforcement of urban management regulations," said Hoai.
The Hanoi Party Chief called on the ward’s Party Committee, local authorities, and the Fatherland Front to continue raising public awareness and encouraging people to maintain cleanliness from their homes to public spaces.

At a cleanup event in Phu Xuyen Commune on the same day, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong stressed that the environmental campaign goes beyond simply tidying streets and alleys.
"It aims to raise public and official awareness of environmental protection," Phong noted.
He called on Phu Xuyen to take the lead in promoting the "Bright, Green, Clean, and Beautiful" movement across southern communes of the city.

Vice Chairwoman of the Phu Xuyen Commune People's Committee Nguyen Thi Bich Phuong highlighted the deeper meaning of the campaign.
According to Phuong, beyond improving the local environment, the capmpaign is a way to celebrate major national holidays and welcome upcoming Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress.
To make the movement effective and relevant to daily life, commune leaders urged each village, neighborhood, and household to take action and work together for a cleaner and more beautiful Phu Xuyen.
Immediately following the launch, local authorities, village teams, and neighborhood groups began cleanup activities across inter-communal roads, residential areas, public facilities, schools, and cultural centers.

Now one of the smallest administrative units among Hanoi’s 126 communes and wards after the administrative restructuring in July 1, Hoan Kiem Ward has one of the highest population densities.
At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the ward People's Committee Nguyen Toan Thang said that located in the heart of the capital, it frequently hosts major political and cultural events and is a key destination for both domestic and international tourists.
Given its profile, the ward considers environmental sanitation and urban order vital, ongoing responsibilities for the entire political system.

To ensure environmental upkeep becomes a daily routine, the ward’s administration is calling on officials, civil servants, workers, and residents to take personal responsibility.
"Each person is encouraged to act not only for their own health, but also for the well-being of the community to build a brighter, cleaner, greener, and more civilized Hoan Kiem," said Thang.

Responding to the campaign, Le Hoang Thuy Van, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Hoan Kiem Ward, described the campaign as a meaningful expression of the local government and community's strong commitment to protecting the environment.
"The Fatherland Front Committee is urging all sectors of society, including political organizations, agencies, businesses, and families, to contribute to the effort," she said.
Suggested actions include collecting and disposing of waste properly, regularly cleaning public spaces, planting trees and flowers in both public and private areas, minimizing single-use plastic, and opting for environmentally friendly alternatives.

Earlier on July 24, the Hanoi Party Committee issued Directive No. 44-CT/TU on strengthening leadership and coordination in environmental sanitation and urban order management, highlighting the importance of full engagement across the political system, especially at grassroots levels. Under the directive, each commune and ward must set up a Steering Committee for Environmental Sanitation and Urban Order led by the local Party Secretary. Weekly cleanups are organized as part of the “Green Weekend” movement. Community sanitation teams are also being established in each residential group or hamlet, led by local heads, to serve as key mobilizers in encouraging residents to keep their surroundings clean. |
