The two spaces are part of the ongoing national exhibition titled “80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” which displays Vietnam’s achievements made since September 2, 1945.
The Hanoi delegation was led by Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and head of the city’s National Assembly delegation.
Joining her were Standing Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, among others.
The visit began at Hanoi’s 700-square-meter display area in the section “Prosperous Provinces, Strong Nation”, part of the theme “Vietnam – Journey to a New Era”.
The exhibition was organized by the Hanoi Institute for Socio-Economic Research under the title “Hanoi – City of Heritages and Heroes: 80 Years with the Nation.”

The exhibition features three spaces. The first, “Hanoi Echoes of Heroism”, recreates key moments in the city’s fight for independence, freedom, peace, and reunification.
The second, “Reconstruction, Reform, and Development with the Nation”, showcases achievements in rebuilding and economic growth after the liberation of the South and 40 years of renovation.
The third, “New Vision – Building a Capital of Heritage, Civility, Modernity, and Global Integration”, presents Hanoi’s development orientation as a cultured, modern, and internationally-connected capital.
The displays use a variety of methods, from models, artifacts, films, and photo panels to interactive technologies, digital applications, AI, robots, and sound and light installations.
The delegation then toured “Hanoi Tradition and Innovation Space 2025”, one of the largest local-level exhibition areas within the national event “80 Years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness”.
Covering 15,000 square meters outdoors at the exhibition center, the space conveys the aspiration of the Party, authorities, and people of Hanoi to revive the spirit of Thang Long, unite, seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and build a cultured, modern, and prosperous capital leading the nation into a new era.
The delegates visit the “Pioneering Technology” zone, which reflects Hanoi’s proactive embrace of modern technology and its confidence entering a new era.
Designed as a continuous journey, the space takes visitors back to millennia-old heritage before moving forward into modern innovations with advanced technologies and groundbreaking ideas.
Secretary Bui Thi Minh Hoai and the delegation explored all six thematic zones, which illustrate Hanoi’s development from tradition to modernity.
The “Hanoi Highlights” zone displays fine handicrafts from traditional villages such as Bat Trang pottery, Phu Vinh rattan weaving, Kieu Ky gold leafing, Chuyen My pearl inlay, and Ngu Xa bronze casting. Each item reflects the artisans’ skill and passion as well as Hanoi’s enduring creativity.
The “Craft Street Treasures” zone features artisans demonstrating techniques in silver and gold work, wood carving, embroidery, lotus silk weaving, and traditional silk making.
The “Pioneering Technology” zone presents high-tech products such as AI, digital solutions and semiconductors, reflecting Hanoi’s proactive embrace of modern technology and its confidence in entering a new era.
The “Hanoi Gifts” zone celebrates the city’s culinary heritage with specialties like Vong green rice, Bach Diep lotus tea, Uoc Le pork rolls, longan with lotus seed sweet soup, and candied fruits, highlighting the richness of Hanoi’s cuisine.
The “Heritage Streams” zone showcases traditional performing arts such as ca tru, cheo and xam, inspiring younger generations to preserve and carry forward cultural values.
The “Village in the City” zone recreates rural northern village scenery with a communal gate, banyan tree, village well and the statue of Saint Giong at the center, evoking memories of the countryside within the modern capital and symbolizing the aspiration to rise in the new era.
