Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that the event is aimed at taking stock of the emulation movement in the cultural sector; evaluating the process of developing Vietnamese culture and people in the new period in accordance with the instructions of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong at the National Cultural Conference 2021.
It is also an opportunity to recognize the efforts of people who work in the field of culture, to display all the potential, motivations and advances of culture, and to contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of the country. In 2016, the then Prime Minister approved the strategy to develop Việt Nam's cultural industries to 2020, with a vision to 2030.
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his happiness to meet 78 exemplary people in the field of culture, representing millions of outstanding organizations and individuals in the country.
According to Prime Minister, outstanding examples shine with patriotism, responsibility, enthusiasm, dynamism and creativity; represent the will, energy and aspiration to contribute to the development of national culture and society.

Nguyen Van Hung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the 78 role models have actively contributed to the patriotic emulation movement.
According to Minister Nguyen Van Hung, they have helped spread culture and entertainment to remote and border areas and islands where people don't have much opportunity to enjoy cultural activities, gradually narrowing the gap in cultural enjoyment between regions.
"Apart from the 78 people honored today, there are many good examples of cultural activists from all over the country who are not present at the ceremony and deserve our appreciation for their silent contribution," Minister Hung said.
