First launched in 2011, the program has now entered its fifteenth year, becoming a familiar communication initiative that draws broad participation from officials, students and citizens across the capital, reflecting strong resonance and lasting relevance.

This year, the program continues through diverse channels, including direct communication activities, coverage in central and local newspapers, themed discussions, and two online contests in multiple-choice format and essay writing, enhancing education on traffic safety laws.

“I hope the 2025 program will achieve greater success, continuing to contribute significantly to raising public awareness and understanding of traffic culture,” Loi said, urging students and staff at universities and colleges to participate actively.

The Organizing Committee announced that the 2025 online multiple choice contest “For the Capital’s Traffic Safety” will begin on September 29, aiming to foster a generation more knowledgeable and responsible, helping spread safe traffic culture.

Nguyen Van Khoi, Secretary of the Youth Union at the University of Transport and Communications, described the program as particularly meaningful for students, recalling President Ho Chi Minh’s words on transportation as the lifeblood of society, underpinning sustainable development.

“Traffic accidents are not merely dry statistics but painful and irreparable losses,” Khoi noted.

He stressed that the university’s youth will support the program, especially the essay contest that promotes exemplary individuals, real stories, or practical proposals to ease congestion and reduce accidents, while students aim to become active role models in traffic culture.

“Each written page is a concrete action to raise social awareness,” Khoi stressed. He affirmed that the competition offers students opportunities to practice writing, demonstrate civic responsibility, and contribute ideas to traffic safety.

Vu Chi Tuan, Secretary of the Youth Union at the National Economics University, said the program reflects the close attention and direction of Hanoi authorities.

He emphasized that traffic safety is a global issue tied to sustainable development and quality of life, and for Hanoi as Vietnam’s center, it is especially urgent.

According to Tuan, ensuring traffic order and safety directly shapes the image and international standing of the capital, reinforcing the need for consistent commitment and collective action, with youth playing an increasingly important role in setting an example.

Over the years, the “For the Capital’s Traffic Safety” program has demonstrated strong influence, attracting hundreds of thousands of students to essay and online multiple-choice contests.

The program serves not only as a knowledge platform but also as a meaningful forum for Hanoi’s youth to express creativity and demonstrate civic responsibility. It nurtures aspirations to contribute to a civilized, safe, and friendly capital city.
