THE HANOI TIMES — All voters of the Hanoi Party Committee on January 13 unanimously nominated Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.

The nomination was made at a voters’ conference held by the Hanoi Party Committee to introduce candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the 17th Hanoi People’s Council for the 2026-2031 term.

“Being nominated by voters of the Hanoi Party Committee was not only an honor but, more importantly, a political responsibility to the Party, the State and voters nationwide, especially those in the capital,” said Ngoc.

If elected, Ngoc said he would fulfill his duties as a representative of the people, actively participate in National Assembly activities, contribute substantively to lawmaking, resolutions and major policy decisions and help institutionalize the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and key strategic resolutions of the Politburo.

He also committed to exercising the National Assembly’s supreme oversight function and maintaining close ties with voters.

Ngoc stressed that as a National Assembly deputy representing Hanoi, he would focus on improving special and breakthrough institutional mechanisms for the capital, advancing the implementation of Hanoi’s master plan with a 100-year vision and addressing long-standing bottlenecks that hinder development and waste social resources.
