Other topics at the top of the working agenda include a resolution on Hanoi’s youth development program for the 2021-2030 period and setting up a supervision delegation on the performance of administrative reform, promotion of e-Government, and digitalization in the city.

The 10th session is set to spend one day for Q&A regarding socio-economic objectives, national defense, public order, and social issues.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan noted Hanoi 2022 continued to face severe challenges from global uncertainties and impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. “With the determination of the entire political system, Hanoi has put in place drastic measures to ensure the realization of socio-economic targets,” Tuan said.

According to Tuan, the early containment of the pandemic situation has laid the foundation for Hanoi to focus on economic recovery.

This year, the city remains on track to realize all 22 socio-economic indicators, including a gross regional domestic product growth (GRDP) of 8.8% year on year, and budget collection of VND333 trillion (US$13.9 billion), exceeding the yearly estimate by 6.8%.

In addition, Tuan highlighted the positive progress in urban planning and management, ensuring social welfare and promoting cultural development.

Tuan stressed the importance for Hanoi to continue working toward the realization of the Politburo’s resolution No.15 on the development of Hanoi in the 2021-2030 period, the soon completion of the master construction plan until 2030, the revised Capital Law, and the preparation process for the Ring road No.4 project.
