Hanoi promotes trade and cultural identity at UK fair

Through its showcase pavilion, Hanoi seized the opportunity to promote local products and strengthen trade links and exports to the UK and European markets.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi businesses showcased local craft village products at the UK’s largest gift and homeware fair, Home & Gift 2025, from July 20–23, as part of the city’s trade promotion mission to the United Kingdom.

A pavilion in the main exhibition hall themed "Hanoi Craft Villages: Traditional Values, Modern Design" was set up at the fair, having 65 years of operations, the largest of its kind to date, featuring 500 brands and over 25,000 products from more than 100 countries.

The pavilion showcased "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) offerings, as well as handicrafts and signature products from nine Hanoi businesses. Items on display ranged from lacquerware and mother-of-pearl inlays to decorative items, rugs, household goods, handbags, wallets, fabric accessories, and kitchenware.

During the exhibition, a throng of international partners visited the Hanoi pavilion and signed export agreements. Exhibitors gained valuable insights into global design trends, product presentation, and digital marketing practices.

Alongside the exhibition, the department discussed market trends, consumption habits, and opportunities to connect Vietnamese firms with designers and wholesalers in the UK and Europe with the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK.

These efforts opened opportunities for Hanoi’s handicrafts and OCOP products to enter international distribution networks, especially in the UK and European markets.
