Hanoi trade fair promotes rural industrial products

The fair allows companies and rural industrial establishments to showcase scientific and technological advances, as well as industrial and craft products.

Hanoi is hosting a fair of exceptional industrial products from northern rural areas, providing an excellent opportunity for localities to promote their traditional and typical products.

With 270 pavilions from 40 provinces and cities, the event is part of the National Industrial Promotion Program 2024.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on the evening of May 16, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan said that the fair is expected to strengthen links between localities and promote trade and tourism in Hanoi as well as in the northern region.

“It allows companies and rural industrial establishments to showcase scientific and technological advances, as well as industrial and craft products,” Tan said.

He emphasized that it is an important event of the National Industrial Promotion Program in 2024 and one of the many regional industrial and commercial activities this year.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son emphasized that the fair also aims to promote the image and achievements of the city's industrial and commercial development.

"It shows the potential for development of typical rural industrial products, traditional and handicraft products of manufacturers in the northern provinces and cities," Son said, citing that the items on display include machinery, transportation, consumer goods, construction materials, and equipment, electronics, and IT, financial and banking services.

Nguyen Thi Huyen, director of Minh Phuc Co. in Phu Tho Province, told The Hanoi Times: "This is the biggest fair we have attended. My company is bringing the ginseng vermicelli product with the expectation of introducing it to a large number of consumers and distributors so that the ginseng vermicelli can be available in the market of Hanoi and the northern region".

"I was curious to visit this place after reading about it in the media. Many excellent products are available at fair prices," said Pham Thanh Liem from Gia Lam District.

The fair will run until May 19 at the National Architectural Planning and Construction Exhibition Center at No.1 Do Duc Duc Street, Nam Tu Liem District.

On this occasion, the center will offer free tickets to visit its Architecture and Planning exhibition.

The Hanoi trade fair is a showcase for outstanding industrial products.

Ion One from Vinh Phuc Province is one of the products that won the award for outstanding rural industrial products in the northern region in 2024.
