Chung expressed his wish that the ambassador in her term will become a bridge connecting Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur and other Malaysian localities in the fields of trade and tourism, among others.

The Hanoi mayor affirmed that the municipal government will create favorable conditions for the Malaysian embassy’s activities in the city.

Chung proposed that the two sides would take cultural exchanges as a pillar for the cooperation and asserted that the Hanoi’s authorities are ready to coordinate and support the Malaysian side in organizing cultural activities at the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem lake.

Hanoi will host the Meeting of Governors of ASEAN Capitals, with the participation of a delegation from Kuala Lumpur. Thus, the mayor hoped that the Malaysian ambassador and embassy would provide support to make the event a success.

Hanoi will also create favorable conditions and remove difficulties for Malaysian businesses operating in the city, Chung stressed.

For her part, Ambassador Dato 'Shariffah Norhana Syed Mustaffa expressed her delight at the good Vietnam-Malaysia relationship, highlighted by the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad to Vietnam in 2019.

The ambassador appreciated the success of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular in efforts to prevent and control Covid-19. She pledged to contribute to promoting relations between the two countries, especially between Hanoi and Malaysia’s localities.

Dato 'Shariffah Norhana Syed Mustaffa thanked Hanoi for its support for Malaysian businesses in Vietnam in general and in the city in particular over the recent years. These enterprises are looking forward to continuing long-term business in Vietnam, she added.
