According to Deputy Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ha Minh Hai, the exhibition is a comprehensive picture that reflects the whole process of 70 years of the capital's development.

"It has recaptured the glorious historical journey, along with many achievements in the capital's work and struggle. From the arduous days of the resistance war, Hanoi has become a modern civilized city with a regional and international profile," Hai said.

Through panels, drawings, films, images, and artifacts, combined with digital technology applications, 3D mapping projections, and artificial intelligence (AI), the exhibition depicts the stages of Hanoi's development in five thematic areas:

The first, entitled Hanoi Before 1954 - Thousand Year Tradition, recounts the heroic history of the capital from the Thang Long period to the brilliant historical milestone of Liberation Day, ushering in a new era of development.

Delegates open the exhibition.

The second is about Hanoi in the cause of socialist construction and the anti-U.S. resistance war for national salvation (1954-1975), entitled "Hanoi forever echoes the heroic epic," which recounts the achievements in the period of building and defending the socialist north. It also describes how the army and people of Hanoi supported the battlefield in the south and made many heroic achievements in the great anti-U.S. resistance war for national reunification.

Part 3 focuses on Hanoi and the whole country building socialism (1975 - 2008) - On the path of renovation and development, showing the achievements of the period of restoration, reconstruction, and socio-economic development after the liberation in the South and the unification of the country.

Part 4 covers Hanoi as a capital from 2008 to the present - expansion and development. It recounts outstanding achievements in Hanoi's socio-economic development after the expansion of administrative boundaries with a facelift and stature. The area of Hanoi after the expansion is nearly 3,360 square kilometers, 3.6 times larger, becoming one of the 17 capitals with the largest area in the world.

A guide presents Hanoi's master plan up to 2045, with a vision for 2065.

Part 5 shows the orientation for the development of the capital until 2030, with the vision until 2050 - "Cultured - Civilized - Modern" capital, according to which the capital in the future will have five development areas, five economic corridors and belts, five dynamic axes, five socio-economic regions, five urban regions.

The exhibition is one of the key activities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day, aiming to introduce the important achievements of the capital through 70 years of struggle, work, production, and development. At the same time, it will promote and raise the awareness, consciousness, and responsibility of Party members and the people of the capital on the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source."
