In the people’s embrace, the army marches on
The atmosphere was solemn and proud, as each marching formation passed to the cheers and affection of the people.
THE HANOI TIMES — From the early morning of August 30, central streets of Hanoi were filled with flags and flowers as tens of thousands of people flocked to Ba Dinh Square and along major roads for the parade rehearsal ahead of the 80th National Day (September 2).

The program opened with a formation of helicopters, SU-30 MKII fighter jets, and Casa transport aircraft, drawing excitement and admiration from the crowd.
Many Hanoi residents and families arrived from midnight to secure the best viewing spots for the full parade.
The women’s military band marched from Nguyen Thai Hoc Street through Trang Thi and Trang Tien, heading toward August Revolution Square.
One by one, the armed forces formations moved in perfect order, each firm step reflecting strength and discipline.
People from Hanoi and other provinces eagerly awaited the parade to witness the different military forces and units marching through the streets.
Soldiers marched with firm, powerful strides and bright smiles amid the warm cheers of the crowd.
The women’s military medical unit advanced down the street in precise formation.
Wherever the troops marched, the crowds on both sides of the street stood to cheer and applaud.
The soldiers truly marched forward in the embrace of the people.
Chants of “Vietnam” echoed across the streets, uniting the people with the marching forces.
Parents brought their children to watch the parade, letting them experience the festive atmosphere of National Day and fostering pride in the nation’s history.
From the night of August 29 to the morning of August 30, sudden showers passed over the city. Despite the weather, people held their ground to keep their places for the parade.
Spectators raised phones and cameras high to capture the historic moments, their eyes filled with pride.
A formation of specialized armored vehicles from the Vietnam People’s Public Security forces moved along the street.
Around 40,000 participants took part in the rehearsal, including armed forces, mass organizations, marching groups, and military equipment convoys.
Even after the final formation left Ba Dinh Square, crowds remained, clapping non-stop and sending their heartfelt affection to the marching troops.
