“Independence Star” show honors national resilience

In the darkest time, the August Revolution on August 19, 1945 and the National Day on September 2, 1945 were the most dazzling moments of the Vietnamese history.

An art performance event titled “The Independence Star” went live on September 1 at the Hanoi Opera House to celebrate two of the biggest national events: The August Revolution (August 19) and the National Day (September 2).

In the era of colonization, the August Revolution 1945 brought Vietnamese people independence, freedom, and happiness. The revolution has had many lessons that are still valuable to the national defense and development of Vietnam now and in the future.

On September 2, 1945, before millions of Vietnamese people, the declaration by the late President Ho Chi Minh gave birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now known as the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The declaration became the greatest moment in the Vietnamese history of thousands of years, as it officially introduced the independent, self-governed Vietnam to the world, and affirmed that the Vietnamese people are always willing and ready to stand up for their own fate.

For that meaning, the annual art performance event “The Independence Star” has been a part of the Vietnamese people, keeping everyone respect the effort and devotion that our forefathers made for a peaceful, independent, and free nation.

From that perspective, every Vietnamese person is expected to strive to better defend and develop Vietnam into a nation of prosperity and happiness.

Well-received by the Vietnamese people for its spirit, the event recreates the cultural and historic values of the Vietnamese people in national development and defense.

These values have remained the motivation for young Vietnamese generations to overcome difficulties, contributing to the long-lasting and flourishing growth of Vietnam.

This year’s event told the path that Vietnam and its people have pursued for the last 78 years since the historic fall of 1945. The event highlighted the determination of the whole nation in the next years with new beliefs and motivation to make Vietnam sustainable and fast-growing.

With two main features and 15 singing and dancing performances, the event delivered overall content and praised the power of unity and determination among all Vietnamese people, which led the nation through hardships in 78 years.

The event also revealed the state's expectations to foster the growth of Vietnam in the coming years amid fast global integration.

During the show, the State and Party leaders presented gifts to former soldiers, comrades, and activists of Hanoi and Tuyen Quang Province who had great efforts and contributions to the Vietnamese revolution and 10 outstanding soldiers of the Vietnam People’s Navy.
