International painting contest “I love Hanoi - City for peace” 2023 launched

The international painting contest aims to spread the love of peace and Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, among children at home and abroad.

The competition will be organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in cooperation with the Hanoi Union of Friendship Organizations in October to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2023).

The annual painting contest  "I Love Hanoi - City for Peace" is open to Vietnamese and international children aged 6 to 15. Submissions for the competition focused on themes such as "I love Hanoi - The city for peace", "Hanoi - Creative city", "For a greener Hanoi" and "Protecting Hanoi's environment", among others.

According to the organizers, the contest aims to promote and educate local children about peace and friendship while promoting the image of Hanoi - the thousand-year-old ancient capital of Vietnam.

It is a chance for children to show their artistic potential, express their love for their homeland and country, and their desire for a peaceful and prosperous world without war and poverty.

The "I Love Hanoi - City for Peace" 2023 Drawing Contest also aims to promote friendship by attracting the participation of international children living and studying in Hanoi.

According to the rules of the organizing committee, participants will draw on the spot for 90 minutes. The artworks can be completed with various optional materials and genres, such as watercolors, wax, powder, oil, and crayons.

The Drawing Contest Organizing Committee will award one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes, as well as a number of runner-up prizes to the winners.

Applications should be submitted from September 15 to 20, 2023, while the contest is expected to be organized on the Capital Liberation Day (October 10) at Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street.
