So far, only five out of 63 cities and provinces are unaffected by Covid-19 which has caused 37,434 infections, including 138 deaths.

News on vaccine supply helps ease the high number of infections. Pfizer today said it would provide 20 million doses in the fourth quarter this year for nine million children aged between 12 and 18, John Paul Pullicino, Country Manager and Chief Representative of Pfizer Vietnam, said at the meeting with Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long on July 14.

On May 10, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) expanded the emergency use authorization for the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccine to include adolescents 12 through 15 years of age.

At the meeting, John Paul Pullicino revealed the supply roadmap of 31 million doses that were inked in the contract with the health minister. Accordingly, it will deliver about one million doses in July, 3.4 million doses in August and September, and about 27 million doses in the fourth quarter.

It means that Pfizer will supply Vietnam with 47 million doses from now until the year-end.
