Khanh Hoa's cruise tourism thrives

Khanh Hoa is renowned for its world-class beaches in Nha Trang and vibrant sea-based tourism, along with abundant seafood resources such as lobster, crab, scallops, and squid.

THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam's central province of Khanh Hoa has welcomed 16 international cruises, with more than 19,000 tourists since the beginning of 2025, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

On August 4, Khanh Hoa welcomed the international cruise ship Ms Viking Yidun at Cam Ranh International Port, bringing 210 tourists from various countries, including China, Canada, and Italy, ashore to explore local attractions.

While in the province, the visitors toured the ancient Ponagar Tower, engaged in cultural activities at Truong Son Craft Village, and visited Long Son Pagoda, among other experiences.

From now until the end of this year, it is expected to receive four more cruise ships carrying around 12,000 visitors.

This reflects positive momentum in Khanh Hoa’s cruise tourism development, following the shift of cruise arrivals from Nha Trang Port to Cam Ranh International Port due to ongoing renovation at the former.

Over the past seven months, Khanh Hoa recorded over 10.8 million tourist arrivals, including more than 3.2 million foreign visitors, with total tourism revenue reaching nearly VND42.4 trillion (US$1.61 billion).
