Logo for 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day unveiled

The logo for the 80th National Day features a powerful symbol of Vietnam’s founding spirit and enduring national pride.

THE HANOI TIMES — The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has unveiled the commemorative logo for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) and Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).

Designed by Hanoi-based artist To Minh Trang, the emblem will serve as the central visual identity for nationwide celebratory and promotional activities honoring this historic milestone.

The official logo for August Revolution (August 19) and Vietnam National Day (September 2) celebrations in 2025.

At the heart of the logo is the powerful and timeless image of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square against the backdrop of the red national flag bearing a yellow star.

This moment is immortalized in the collective memory of the Vietnamese people and marks the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, a defining event that ushered in Vietnam's emergence as a sovereign nation on the world stage.

The official logo embodies historical reverence and contemporary aspirations. It will be frequently featured in communications, events, and public displays related to the anniversary, inspiring national pride and reaffirming the country's revolutionary spirit. It will also serve to instill a sense of unity in the ongoing journey of building a prosperous and happy Vietnam.

Artist To Minh Trang, who also designed the official logo for the 70th anniversary of the  Dien Bien Phu Victory in 2024, skillfully integrated meaningful symbols into this new design.

The logo prominently features the dates August 19 and September 2, commemorating the successful August Revolution and the day the Vietnamese nation formally proclaimed its independence.

A central graphic element is the stylized image of a microphone on the historic Ba Dinh rostrum, where President Ho Chi Minh’s solemn declaration still echoes across generations: "Vietnam has the right to be a free and independent country, and in fact, it is so already. The entire Vietnamese people are determined to mobilize all their physical and mental strength and to sacrifice their lives and property to safeguard their independence and liberty."

This iconic microphone, anchored within a solid, unified structure, symbolizes the birth of the Republic and the Vietnamese state's enduring strength over the past 80 years, guided by Ho Chi Minh’s vision and legacy.

Its visual design features a fluttering red flag with a yellow star as the background, a sacred national symbol representing revolution and resilience. The number 80, rendered in a warm orange, represents eight decades of historical turbulence and glory. It radiates the strength of national unity and optimism as well as Vietnam’s firm stride into the future.

The logo is more than just a visual identity; it is a cultural expression of gratitude and reverence for President Ho Chi Minh, whose leadership and ideals laid the foundation for the modern Vietnamese state.
