The Year of the Snake 2025 marked strong momentum for Hanoi. The capital maintained its leading role nationwide, sustained stable socioeconomic growth and advanced key infrastructure projects. The city accelerated digital transformation and innovation while strengthening administrative discipline.
More importantly, Hanoi residents felt clearer changes in governance, from streamlined procedures and improved public services to stronger social welfare, environmental protection and urban renewal.
These results reflect the unity and dedication of the political system, business community and every resident. On behalf of the city’s leaderships, I sincerely thank central authorities for your guidance, other localities for your cooperation and, above all, the people and soldiers of the capital for your trust and contributions.
In 2026, under the action theme “Discipline – Professionalism – Breakthrough – Innovation – Efficiency – Sustainability”, Hanoi will take the lead in implementing the 14th National Party Congress Resolution and key central directives as well as the directions of General Secretary To Lam. The capital must pioneer new models, foster development and gather talent, helping drive the nation forward in a new era.
The country now stands at a historic turning point and our responsibility grows heavier. With its thousand-year tradition and spirit of solidarity, Hanoi will turn confidence into action and aspiration into tangible results, building a city that is livable, culturally rich, creative and globally connected.
As spring arrives across every street and neighborhood, I once again wish compatriots, comrades and soldiers of the capital good health, happiness and success.
May our capital grow ever more prosperous, civilized and modern, worthy of its role as the heart of the nation.

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, Quang An Flower Market in Hong Ha Ward, Hanoi, becomes a vibrant portrait of spring in the capital. From late evening until dawn, crowds of residents pack the market, bustling to buy flowers for Tet celebrations.
With garbage rising sharply before Tet, Hanoi mobilizes round-the-clock cleanup efforts while Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh calls for stronger public awareness and better support for sanitation workers.
For two weeks before the Lunar New Year, Hang Luoc flower market fills Hanoi’s Old Quarter with blossoms and memory, serving as a living tradition that preserves the spirit of Tet in a rapidly modernizing city.
Looking toward the next century, Hanoi now has an opportunity to restore the Red River’s strength and reflect the stature of a capital city moving toward sustainable development.
