THE HANOITIMES — The launching ceremony for Earth Hour 2025, themed “Green Transition – Green Future,” took place at the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian area on March 22, attracting thousands of participants, including residents, organizations, and businesses.

The event was organized by the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade and AT Media, with the support of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) under the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Under the theme “Green Transition – Green Future,” the program aims to raise public awareness about energy conservation, environmental protection, and the promotion of a sustainable energy transition in Vietnam.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy, National Coordinator of ETP, said that ETP is committed to supporting Vietnam in raising public awareness on green transition and sustainable development. The strong public engagement in Earth Hour each year demonstrates the power of collective action.

“ETP is currently leading a local campaign to raise awareness of the just energy transition among Vietnamese communities. Through meaningful initiatives like this, we aim to inspire responsibility and encourage everyone to join hands in shaping a sustainable future," said Thuy.
