Miss Grand International is an annual beauty pageant founded and run by Nawat Itsaragrisil (a Thai media personality and entrepreneur) since 2013. This is the second time the pageant has been held in Vietnam, after the first time in 2017.

During the several weeks of the pageant, contestants engaged in many cultural experience activities and visited scenic spots in Hanoi, Ha Long, Danang, and Hoi An, as well as competed in categories such as beauty in swimsuit, national costume, and Miss Grand Voice.

Representing Vietnam in the competition is Le Hoang Phuong, 28, from the coastal province of Khanh Hoa. She graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in Architecture in 2021 and is currently the CEO of an architectural firm. She is 1.76m tall, weighs 54kg and her measurements are 88-63-99cm.

She was crowned Miss Grand Vietnam in August 2023 and had a month to practice her runway walk, behavior, and English skills for the international competition.

Nguyen Minh Tuan is one of the designers of the outfits for the contestants of the Miss Grand International 2023.

At the contest, she was also awarded the prize for the best national costume along with two other beauties, Yayoi Machida (Japan) and Boma Dokubo (Nigeria).

In the final round, 15 beauties chose evening gowns by Vietnamese designer Nguyen Minh Tuan, including three in the top 5.

Miss Grand Colombia shone with a special design just for her, inspired by the sunrise landscape with yellow and orange flowing together. Miss Grand United States wore a dress depicting the image of a desert scorpion with a strong spirit of vitality, while Miss Grand Netherlands wore a design of a fire phoenix.

The other 12 contestants wearing Tuan's gowns are Miss Grand Australia, Miss Grand Canada, Miss Grand Cuba, Miss Grand Ireland, Miss Grand Guatemala, Miss Grand Nicaragua, Miss Grand Panama and Miss Grand United Kingdom.

"I am very happy that the contest in Vietnam has been a success with many activities held throughout the country. I accompanied the beauty queens from the first days they arrived in Vietnam, and I was even happier when I received praise from the contestants wearing my outfits. It's definitely worth postponing my solo fashion show to focus on the beauty pageant," said designer Tuan.
