Vietnam and Mongolia have maintained a long-standing relationship based on a growing political trust and mutual support for each other’s international agenda.
Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and his spouse have arrived in Hanoi to begin a five-day visit to Vietnam ahead of the 70th anniversary of bilateral relations, which is believed to be a milestone for the two countries.

Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and his spouse have arrived in Hanoi to begin a five-day visit to Vietnam ahead of the 70th anniversary of bilateral relations, which is believed to be a milestone for the two countries.
Mongolia highly appreciates Vietnam’s rising role and considers it the leading partner in its diplomacy for Southeast Asia, according to Vietnamese Ambassador to Mongolia Doan Khanh Tam.
With so much potential and advantages, the two nations can foster cooperation in a wide range of areas. Among them are renewable energy sources, oil and gas exploration, extraction and processing, tourism, science, information technology, digital transformation, and agriculture, the ambassador told local media.
President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh is accompanied by a delegation of high-ranking officials and deputies in charge of trade, agriculture, and industry, among others.
President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong will meet today after the official reception ceremony. The two leaders will attend the signing ceremony of agreements before holding a press conference.
During his stay, President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh is scheduled to pay a courtesy call to the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.
The two presidents plan to visit Mobile Police Command and attend the Vietnam-Mongolia Business Forum.
In January 2010, President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, then Secretary General of the Mongolian People’s Party, paid a visit to Vietnam.
President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh met with President Vo Van Thuong in May 2023 when both were in the United Kingdom to attend King Charles III’s coronation.
President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh has a strong affection for Vietnam. He actively supported the creation of a new framework for relations with Vietnam while serving as prime minister and deputy prime minister of Mongolia.
