More than 2,300 Hanoi enterprises set up "Covid-19 Safety Teams"

In the face of the increasingly serious Covid-19 pandemic, over eight thousand "Covid-19 Safety Teams" have been founded in more than two thousand enterprises across Hanoi, with a total of nearly forty thousand members.

The above-mentioned result is gained after the Hanoi Labor Confederation requested districts' labor unions to urgently activate groups on the Zalo social media platform nearly two weeks ago, promptly dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

The move was taken after numerous SARS-CoV-2 cases were reported in industrial zones in the capital city’s neighboring provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang, where are the pandemic epicenters with the highest numbers of infections nationwide, 1,564 and 654, respectively.

The Hanoi Labor Confederation also asked district labor unions to closely monitor compliance with regulations on the mandatory medical declaration for workers in industrial zones, factories, and enterprises in the city.

Vietnam is now home to 369 industrial parks and nearly 30 border gate economic zones and processing zones with 3.8 million workers, and around 700 industrial clusters employing 600,000 people.

Besides, the confederation required the "Covid-19 Safety Teams" to train members and improve their skills in disease prevention.

Employers are required to sign commitments that they must fully comply with the regulations on the prevention of Covid-19 and assume responsibility for pandemic prevention at companies. Individuals and units that do not comply with Covid-19 prevention regulations at the workplace will receive tough punishment.
