More Vietnamese peacekeepers to work in South Sudan

The Vietnamese team will go to South Sudan on C-17 aircraft flown by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).

A group of 63 Vietnamese peacekeepers will soon be dispatched to South Sudan, continuing the country’s international mission since its first activities in 2014.

To prepare for the upcoming mission, all officers have been injected with Covid-19 vaccines and equipped with precautionary measures before leaving the country.

Major General Hoang Kim Phung, head of Vietnam's Department of Peacekeeping Operations, meets peacekeepers before they leave the country.

Field Hospital 2.3 was established in March 2020 with 70 staff, including 63 official ones, replacing Field Hospital 2.2.

Eager to take mission.

Vietnamese military doctors and nurses experienced one year of medical and peacekeeping training courses, covering International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Aero-Medical Evacuation Team (AMET), International Humanitarian Law (IHL), and driving armed vehicles.
