New Russian Ambassador to boost trade with Vietnam

The new Russian ambassador to Vietnam, Vnukov Konstantin Vasilievich, said he will work to help raise Russia-Vietnam trade to 10 billion USD.

At a press conference in Hanoi on March 13, the ambassador asserted that strengthening comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam is a priority in Russia’s foreign policy in Asia-Pacific region.
The diplomat pledged to intensify bilateral cooperation in numerous fields, particularly trade, oil and gas, nuclear power, and military techniques during his tenure. 
The ambassador said he believed when the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Union and Vietnam concludes, it will bolster the trade of goods and service, investment, and the exchange of technology and skilled personnel among Vietnam and the Eurasian Union ’s member countries.
The ambassador highlighted that Vietnam and Russia will mark several major anniversaries this year, including the 65 anniversary of diplomatic relation establishment (January 30, 1950- 2015) and to welcome the occasion, numerous activities will be held in many big cities of both countries.
