Noi Bai International Airport moves up in world's top 100 airports ranking

The result marks the seventh time the airport has received this top accolade.

THE HANOI TIMES — Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi jumped 17 places to 79th in the world's top 100 airports for 2025, according to Skytrax, the prestigious international aviation ratings and rankings organization.

The improvement is largely attributed to the airport's upgraded services, including more phone charging stations, better free Wi-Fi, and improved children's play areas, baby care rooms, and infrastructure for people with disabilities.

Over the past years, Noi Bai Airport's T2 International Terminal has been expanded at a cost of VND5 trillion (US$196 million), with additional check-in counters and scanners installed to increase its capacity to 10-15 million passengers per year.

The implementation of a non-stop electronic toll collection system at all entry and exit lanes of the T1 and T2 passenger terminals has helped to reduce congestion and improve passenger convenience.

In particular, the service attitude of frontline staff serving passengers has improved.

In 2024, the airport ensured the safety of more than 30 million passengers. It also witnessed a strong increase in international travelers in the first quarter, as several new international routes were put into operation.

Besides Noi Bai International Airport, another representative from Vietnam was Danang International Airport was listed in this year’s Skytrax rankings.

The ranking is part of the annual World Airport Awards 2025 and is based on passenger satisfaction surveys in various categories, including check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security, immigration and departures.

The World Airport Awards were initiated in 1999, when Skytrax conducted its first global airport customer satisfaction survey. It has become the benchmark for airport quality worldwide, evaluating customer service and facilities at more than 500 airports.

To date, Noi Bai International Airport has been ranked among the world's top 100 airports seven times, in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2024, and 2025.
