Party and government leaders pay tribute to victims tornado-hit areas

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Politburo member Tran Cam Tu visited Ninh Binh and Ha Tinh to support families affected by Typhoon Bualoi, urging relief efforts and providing financial aid to help communities recover.

THE HANOI TIMES — Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in the evening of September 30 visited victims in the northern province of Ninh Binh's tornado-hit areas, the hardest-hit areas by Typhoon Bualoi.

The prime minister paid tribute to the victims in Quy Nhat Commune and extended his deepest condolences on behalf of the government to bereaved families and communities affected by the typhoon, especially those who lost loved ones. 

Chinh urged Ninh Binh authorities to support affected families in overcoming their losses and assist them in organizing proper funerals.

He instructed provincial authorities to urgently address the storm’s consequences and stabilize local lives. Authorities must ensure shelters, food and essential supplies so that no one is left homeless, while mobilizing local forces to rebuild homes and repair schools and guarantee medical services for residents.

Due to Bualoi's impact, Ninh Binh has experienced torrential rains, tornadoes and strong winds, resulting in severe damage. The province reported 21 collapsed houses and 1,186 others damaged. 

Numerous schools, medical stations and production facilities were affected, while 205 electricity poles were broken and hundreds of hectares of crops and aquaculture submerged.

On the same day, Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, and the Central Working Group visited, encouraged and supported the people of the central province of Ha Tinh to overcome the consequences of Typhoon Bualoi.

Tu sent his deep sympathy for the damage and loss caused by the storm and flood.

He praised the response efforts and responsible participation of the entire political system, localities, especially the people of Ha Tinh Province in preventing and minimizing the damage caused by the storm.

Tu presented financial support worth VND8.7 billion (US$329,208) from the Vietnam Fatherland Front to Ha Tinh Province to overcome the consequences.
