Party Central Committee accepts National Assembly Chairman's resignation

Vuong Dinh Hue has violated the Party's rules on prohibited behaviors for Party members, the regulations on the responsibility of Party officials and members, especially Politburo members, to set an example.

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam has permitted Vuong Dinh Hue to leave his posts as a Politburo member, a member of the Central Committee of the Party for the 13th term, and the Chairman of the 15th National Assembly by his wishes.

The decision was made at a meeting today [April 26].

The Party Central Committee assessed Hue as a key leader of the Party and the State, who had been trained and matured from the grassroots and has been entrusted with many important Party and State leadership positions.

However, according to the reports from the Party Central Committee's Inspection Commission and relevant agencies, Hue has violated the Party's rules on prohibited behaviors for Party members, the regulations on the responsibility of officials and Party members to set an example for officials and Party members, especially for Politburo members, members of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat, and members of the Party Central Committee, and is liable as a leader according to Party rules and State laws.

These violations and shortcomings "have caused negative public opinion and damaged the prestige of the Party, the State, and himself. " With a clear sense of responsibility to the Party, the State, and the people, Hue has submitted a letter requesting that he resign from his posts and be relieved of his duties.
