Poliburo assigns tasks to its two members

Mr. Vo Van Thuong holds the position of Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, while Mr. Tran Tuan Anh takes up an appointment as Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission.

The Poliburo has decided to assign new tasks to its two members.

Under the decision, announced and handed over by Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong at a ceremony held in Hanoi on February 6, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong was appointed as Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, while Politburo member Tran Tuan Anh as Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the two officials, Mr. Thuong expressed thanks to Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong and the Poliburo for their trust, assigning them important tasks as the country is entering a new development stage.

“This is a great honor but also a heavy responsibility in the context of the entire Party and people expecting steady development steps of the Party and the nation after the 13th National Party Congress’s success,” Mr. Thuong said.

Mr. Trong hands over decision assigning Politburo member Tran Tuan Anh as Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission.

Mr. Thuong and Mr. Tuan Anh both promised that they will try their utmost efforts to complete the assigned tasks, actively contributing to maintain unity, solidarity, principles and reputation of the Party and its leadership and direction in implementing the 13th National Party Congress’s Resolution as well as other resolutions of the Party Central Committee, the Poliburo and the Secretariat successfully.

Mr. Thuong, born on December 13, 1970 in the southern province of Vinh Long’s Mang Thit District, will replace Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong, Poliburo member of the 12th Party Central Committee.

Mr. Tuan Anh was born in April 6, 1964 in the central province of Quang Ngai. He is the Minister of Industry and Trade.
