Quang Tri promotes tourism potential through Bollywood film project

The film project is expected to promote travel between Vietnam and India.

THE HANOI TIMES — Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri expects that the Bollywood film SILAA, the first Indian production set in the spectacular caves and other scenic locations in the area, would promote local tourism.

Dang Dong Ha, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on July 30 welcomed the film crew coming to shoot the US$-million movie that would be screened in 1,000 theaters across India in 2026 and to reach an estimated eight million audiences.

The film crew will stay in Quang Tri from August 1 to August 14, which is considered a good opportunity for local authorities to show their hospitality, with shootings to be set in iconic locations such as Son Doong Cave, Phong Nha, Tan Hoa, Tu Lan, and Hang Tien.

Apart from Quang Tri, the film crew will travel to Cao Bang, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Danang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Ha said that this collaboration paves the way for developing movie-inspired tourism services and fosters closer ties between the film industry and the tourism sector.

Produced by Rahul Bali, a prominent Bollywood industry figure and the CEO of Innovations India, SILAA aims to promote travel between India and Vietnam.
