Quarantine facilities required to be Covid-19 prevention training center

Hanoi city has set up 72 concentrated quarantine facilities with the capacity of more than 30,000 beds which play an important role in stamping out the pandemic.

Quarantine camps should train people who undergo sanitary isolation there on Covid-19 prevention skills, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung said at a meeting on June 2.

Dung noted that the city has been strengthening Covid-19 prevention and control measures, especially tightening management and quality at the concentrated isolation facilities.

“The municipal government will try its best to protect people’s health, which is prioritized in any situation,” Dung stressed.

He added that the city has set up 72 concentrated quarantine facilities with the capacity of more than 30,000 beds which play an important role in stamping out the pandemic.

Over the past time, concentrated isolation facilities have been operated effectively, making great contributions to protecting people's health and repelling three waves of Covid-19 outbreaks.

Since the fourth outbreak in late April, twelve concentrated quarantine facilities have received more than 5,000 citizens and over 1,500 people have finished their isolation period and returned home safely.

"Centralized isolation is still the most important measure to contain the pandemic in the current serious evolution," said the Hanoi Party chief.

In some cases, functional force should encourage those in high-risk groups to stay under quarantine longer to ensure safety.

As of June 2, Hanoi has reported two more new domestic infections of Covid-19, raising the city’s total number of Covid-19 patients to 416 since April 29 when the fourth coronavirus wave hit Vietnam, according to the Ministry of Health.

Those having suspected symptoms, such as fever, cough and shortness of breath, are urged to call the ministry’s hotline 1900 9095 for assistance and support.

Five weeks since the Covid-19 resurgence, the country has recorded as many as 4,597 local infections in 37 cities and provinces, the health ministry said.
