Radiant colors and proud footsteps of Vietnam’s women in uniform

Contributing to the resounding success of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day was the radiant yet dignified presence of female soldiers, militiawomen, female military bands and women representing Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups, all proudly participating in the historic parade.

THE HANOI TIMES — The participation of female militia contingents in the ceremony and parade commemorating Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945- 2025) at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi today, became the most striking images of the celebration.

Representing the unity and resilience of the nation’s 54 ethnic groups, these women carried with them the heroic legacy of their forebears, who stood steadfast and courageous in the long struggles for national liberation.

Together, the remarkable women-soldiers, medics, peacekeepers and guardians of the homeland formed a powerful image of national pride. Their participation was not only a highlight of the parade but a moving tribute to the strength and beauty of Vietnamese women across generations.

Throughout history, Vietnam’s ethnic minority militiawomen demonstrate bravery and intelligence in the face of adversity.

Today, they continue to uphold that legacy, striving to build prosperous, cultured and happy communities.

Their march today was both a tribute to the past and a reminder of the enduring strength and courage of Vietnamese women.

As they marched in unison to the sound of military music echoing through Ba Dinh Square, the female militia brought pride and emotion to onlookers.

Dressed in iconic scarves and hats, these women once fought valiantly in hamlets and villages, taking up arms in every corner of the South.

Their pivotal role contributed decisively to the Great Victory of Spring 1975.

Female traffic police officers stood out in their sharp uniforms, playing the important role in maintaining social order and safety.

The parade also featured the proud and graceful Vietnam’s female officers serving in the United Nations peacekeeping missions.

Adding to the display of courage and compassion were the female military medical officers, whose professionalism and dedication speak to Vietnam’s commitment to protecting life, both in times of conflict and peace.
