The image of Hanoi, the capital city, which is a combination of historical heritage and the quintessence of the nation, will be vividly recreated.
The inaugural program "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" with the theme "Hanoi's Outstanding Signs" to be held tonight (August 23) will recreate a heroic, brave, and strong Hanoi along the 70-year history to mark the anniversary of Hanoi’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 - 2024).
General Director of the program Pham Hoang Giang said that the two-hour elaborately staged opening ceremony will help the audience better understand the capital's 70-year history, its development, and the harmonious fusion of tradition and modernity of today's capital.

"The image of the capital, which combines historical heritage and the quintessence of the nation, will be vividly recreated, and the patriotism, love of peace, solidarity, and aspiration for development of the whole nation will be crystallized and shine," added Giang.
The program opened with a report "Hanoi in the flow of 70 years" about the capital in the process of striving, building, and developing since its liberation.
Afterward, an artistic program will be presented, depicting the heroic historical journey of the nation, starting from the love, pride, and honor of the people of Hanoi and Vietnam. The audience will see the image of the heroic army marching into Hanoi to take it over with the joy of the whole nation.
In the chapter "The Scent and Color of Hanoi", the program introduces the cultural identity and people of Hanoi, where tradition and modernity blend.
The section "The Flow of Time" will present the image of Hanoi today. The capital, together with Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and other provinces, is a great source of endogenous strength for the entire Vietnamese people. This is the spiritual power of great national unity.
The program will feature many famous Vietnamese artists, including Hong Nhung, Tung Duong, Dao Mac, Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Ho Trung Dung, Vu Thang Loi, Dong Hung, Dao To Loan, MTV Group, Quach Mai Thy, Thang Long Puppet Theater, Hong Kien Orchestra, Mai Trang Dance Group, and others.
"Hanoi's Outstanding Marks" will be broadcast live on Hanoi Radio and Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and rebroadcast on many local television stations nationwide.

Held at Nguyen Hue Walking Street in HCMC's District 1 from August 23 to 25, all activities under the "Hanoi Days in HCMC" are aimed at communicating the 70 years of achievements in the construction and development of the thousand-year-old capital city; showcasing the unique cultural features and heritage of Hanoi - the City for Peace, the Creative City; promoting cooperation between Hanoi and HCMC in utilizing the potential and advantages of cultural heritage, tourism, services, trade and other fields.
Many precious heritage sites in Hanoi, including the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, will be introduced to the people of HCMC. In addition, there will be cultural and artistic activities such as exhibition activities at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum, an exhibition entitled "Thang Long Imperial Citadel - Hanoi - Heritage for the Future", and an exhibition of paintings, photos, and documents on the special national relic of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature).

On this occasion, the Hanoi delegation will visit 70 families on welfare and outstanding people with meritorious services present them gifts, and organize an exhibition of documents and photos related to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi.
There will be an exhibition of documents related to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital and an artistic performance of "youth melodies" by artists from both cities.
The capital's delegation will visit the Ho Chi Minh Museum and the Ton Duc Thang Museum, offer flowers to the statues of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton, and visit and offer incense at the Cho Quan Hospital Prison Relic - where General Secretary Tran Phu was martyred.
