Ring Road 1 construction accelerates as Hoang Cau–Voi Phuc section enters peak phase

Following full site clearance in late 2025, construction of Hanoi’s Ring Road 1 Hoang Cau-Voi Phuc section has shifted into high gear, with large-scale manpower and machinery mobilized to keep the project on track for completion in 2026.

THE HANOI TIMES After site clearance was completed in late December 2025, construction of the Hoang Cau-Voi Phuc section of Hanoi’s Ring Road 1 has entered a full-scale phase, with hundreds of workers and machines operating continuously along the entire route.

The Hoang Cau-Voi Phuc section is nearly 2.3 kilometers long, with a total investment of more than VND7.2 trillion (US$274 million).

The project includes roadbed and pavement construction, intersections, drainage systems, utility tunnels, lighting, greenery and sidewalks.

Under the design, the road will have a cross-section width of 50 meters and include two overpasses at the Lang Ha-Giang Vo and Nguyen Chi Thanh intersections.

Contractors have divided workers into multiple construction teams spread across the entire route to ensure the project stays on schedule.

Workers are organized into several teams, carrying out different construction items simultaneously along the route.

Areas along the route have been completely demolished to make way for construction.

Heavy machinery runs around the clock to keep the project on schedule.

The equipment is clearing construction debris to prepare the roadbed.

Drainage systems are being built in parallel with the roadbed and pavement.

Construction materials are being transported to the site as a busy working atmosphere covers the entire project area.

The project is expected to be completed in 2026. Once finished, the Ring Road 1 will ease traffic congestion and improve Hanoi’s inner-city transport network.
