According to Mr. Dung, the hosting of the opening and closing ceremony of SEA Games 31 as well as ASEAN Para Games 11 is an honor for the capital, so Hanoi is determined to organize them successfully.

“There are only nine months left until the celebration of the two biggest regional sport games. Therefore, the establishment of SEA games 31 and Para games 11 organizing sub-committees is an urgent work. They need to be assigned responsibilities and fulfill their tasks on schedule,” Mr. Dung said at the meeting that took place on March 18.

“Additionally, the communication  dissemination about these games should also be promoted, in order to rally the response of the people of Hanoi as well as the whole country,” he added.

He also emphasized that, the Organizing Committee needs to take effective infection prevention and control measures against the Covid-19 pandemic as well as consult experts, scientists and relevant units to work out the best plans for the opening and closing ceremony of SEA Games 31 and Para games 11.

SEA Games 31 is scheduled to be held from November 21 to December 2 in Hanoi and 11 nearby localities, featuring 40 sports and more than 520 events. The opening and closing ceremonies will take place at the city’s My Dinh Stadium.

Meanwhile, ASEAN Para Games 11 will take place in the capital city from December 17-28 with 11 sports and about 400 competition events.
