Singing contest celebrates Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations

The contest aims to strengthen diplomatic relations and people-to-people exchanges between Vietnam and Japan.

The contest to sing the song "Tomodachi - Tinh ban" (Tomodachi - Friendship), a song of friendship between Vietnam and Japan, will be held from September 15 to the end of December 2023.

It is part of the series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries (1973-2023).

The five amateur talents who best perform the song in Japanese and Vietnamese will have the opportunity to visit Japan.

Participants must be Vietnamese, aged between 6 and 22, living in Vietnam.

Registration for the contest is open online or in person at designated locations in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong, Danang, and Cantho.

Contestants can send a clip performing the song "Tomodachi - Friendship" to the email of the Organizing Committee's Representative Office: info.tomodachi@gmail.com; or post a clip performing the song on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok...) with the hashtag #Tomodachi and send the link to the Organizing Committee's email.

The Vietnam-Japan friendship song "Tomodachi - Friendship" praises friendship and equality of race, gender, and age. "As long as we unite and understand each other, we will all together create a wonderful, peaceful, and happy world," said Mizushima Kozo, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Japanese Business Association.

He said thanks to the contest, the Vietnam-Japan friendship song and the keyword "Tomodachi-Friendship" will be popularized among people of the two countries, especially young people, to help cultivate friendship.

The award ceremony of the singing contest is scheduled for December this year.
