Specialties on show at OCOP Product Week 2025 in Hanoi

The event is an opportunity for One Commune One Product (OCOP) units of Hanoi and other localities to promote agricultural products, food, handicrafts, and traditional craft villages.

THE HANOI TIMES — Hundreds of specialties and typical products of over 20 provinces and cities are promoted at the week of OCOP products, safe agricultural products, and food in Hanoi.

Running till May 13, more than 50 booths are introducing typical agricultural products, OCOP items, and traditional craft villages of Son La, Quang Nam, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Hung Yen, Phu Yen, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Tien Giang, Danang, Cao Bang, and among others.

This event is part of Hanoi’s OCOP Program in 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of the Hanoi New Rural Area Development Program Coordination Office, said that the event is an opportunity for OCOP entities of Hanoi and other localities across the country to connect and promote agricultural products, food, handicrafts, and traditional craft villages, contributing to strengthening productivity and product quality.

Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of the Hanoi New Rural Area Development Program Coordination Office, addresses the opening ceremony.

“The event helps consumers experience and purchase high-quality products and enables OCOP producers to promote their brands to a large number of consumers, promote trade, find partners and new markets,” Ngon said.

He added that Hanoi is home to over 1,350 craft villages, accounting for 40% of the country's craft villages, and is the potential cradle for developing OCOP products. These are very favorable advantages for the capital to implement the OCCP promotion program.

"Since 2019, Hanoi has classified 3,317 OCOP products, taking the lead in the number of OCOP goods," said the official.

Ngo Van Ngon, Deputy Chief of the Hanoi New Rural Area Coordination Office, and delegates visit the booth of OCOP products.

“We bring here products that have been trusted and favored by domestic and foreign markets, which are four-star OCOP products, such as sea worm shrimp salt or sea worm fish sauce. The promotion program will help businesses expand their markets in the future,” Cao Hong Van, Director of New Star One Member Company Limited from Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, told The Hanoi Times.

Pham Thi Hoa, the owner of a fish sauce production facility in Nghe An Province, said that participating in the promotion week like this helps businesses introduce their products to consumers inside and outside the province, resulting in more orders.
