Spring Fair 2026 opens in Hanoi, stimulates trade and domestic consumption

The Spring Fair 2026 opened in Hanoi with a focus on showcasing high-quality Vietnamese products, strengthening supply-demand links and stimulating domestic consumption during the peak Tet shopping season.

THE HANOI TIMES The Spring Fair 2026 opened at the Vietnam Exposition Center in Hanoi’s Dong Anh Commune on February 2 to showcase exemplary Vietnamese products and encourage domestic spending before Tet (Lunar New Year).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said the fair is a national-level economic and cultural event with international reach, serving as a platform linking trade, investment, tourism, culture and innovation.

The first edition reflects Vietnam’s integration mindset by connecting domestic and international resources, expanding cooperation and offering visitors a chance to experience high-quality Vietnamese products and cuisine, he said.

Chinh said the event supports the “Vietnamese people prioritize Vietnamese goods” movement and called on localities to promote signature products, particularly One Commune One Product items.

The fair sends a broader message that Vietnamese-made goods meet quality standards and can earn consumer trust, preference and long-term loyalty, he added.

The prime minister urged ministries and agencies to step up investment, trade and tourism promotion to strengthen the Vietnamese brand globally.

Running until February 13 under the theme “Connecting prosperity – Welcoming a glorious spring”, the fair spans about 100,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and more than 45,000 square meters outdoors.

The event presents a spring journey across Vietnam, where economic, cultural and creative values converge. It features eight thematic zones, about 3,000 standard booths and dedicated spaces for culture, cuisine and interactive activities.

A highlight is the “Journey across Vietnam in Spring” concept, which blends trade promotion with cultural and experiential elements.

The “Tet of Reunion” zone, hosted by Hanoi, recreates the traditional holiday atmosphere through handicrafts, craft villages and activities such as calligraphy, making chung cake and demonstrations of traditional trades, alongside introductions to the capital’s cuisine, costumes and tourism.

Seven other zones showcase goods, handicrafts, ornamental plants and regional cuisine from 34 provinces and cities nationwide.

The fair builds on the success of the Autumn Fair 2025, which generated more than VND1 trillion (US$39 million) in revenue and drew strong participation from domestic and international businesses.

Organizers expect the Spring Fair to become a regular fixture in Vietnam’s early-year trade promotion calendar, helping boost brand recognition and strengthen supply-demand linkages.

The event is also expected to connects manufacturers, distributors and consumers, reducing intermediaries.

As a result, businesses will be able to cut operating and consignment costs by about 15%-20%, offering more competitive prices to consumers.

Held during 12 peak days of Tet shopping, the Spring Fair 2026 runs daily from 9 AM to 9 PM and is set to set a new revenue record.

The event will serve as a direct link between manufacturers, distributors, and consumers, helping to cut down unnecessary middle steps. As a result, businesses are expected to cut operating and consignment costs by around 15-20%, enabling both enterprises and consumers to benefit from more competitive prices at the event.

The Spring Fair 2026, taking place during the 12 peak days of Tet holiday shopping, opens daily between 9AM and 9PM and is expected to set a new revenue record.

The steering committee believes that the event will become a prestigious rendezvous and a top choice for investors and trade partners from across the region and the world.
