One year after his death, Vietnamese people still miss Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who was humble and dedicated to the country's development.

"During his lifetime, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a humble man wholeheartedly served the nation and its people. I admire him for his noble character and integrity even in his position as the highest-ranking official in the Communist Party," Do Tung Van, a Xuan Trach village resident, talked to The Hanoi Times.

Local neighborhood groups and organizations collaborate to organize logistics, maintain order, and assist visitors from other regions who came to pay their respects.

Large crowds gather at Mai Dich Cemetery to offer incense and honor the late general secretary, a leader who dedicated himself to his country and its people until his last breath.

Earlier in the day, the family of the late general secretary arrive to pay their respects at his gravesite, along with senior leaders of the Vietnamese Communist Party, the authorities of Hanoi, and representatives of various agencies.

In a solemn atmosphere, groups of people quietly approached his gravesite, expressing their deepest reverence.

Many stand silently by the tomb, expressing their gratitude to the steadfast leader.

As the weather becomes increasingly stifling, the steady stream of visitors still arrived at Mai Dịch Cemetery from all directions.

Many are gazing at his portrait to show their respect and remembrance.

For many, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has always been a charismatic figure.
