Thousands of volunteers serve state funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong

Hundreds of volunteers have helped delegations and individuals follow the procedure when paying tribute to the late General Secretary.

More than 4,000 youth union members and health workers volunteered to work at the state funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on July 25 and 26.

The volunteers were deployed at the National Morgue (5A Tran Thanh Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District), the late General Secretary's house (5 Thien Quang Street, Hai Ba Trung District), his hometown in Lai Da Village, Dong Anh District, Mai Dich Cemetery (Cau Giay District) and some streets during the funeral procession.

During the period of national mourning, the volunteers assisted and guided delegations and people who came to pay their respects to the late General Secretary.

Hanoi's health sector is responsible for ensuring medical and epidemic prevention for the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, deploying emergency teams and treatment facilities, and maintaining food safety.

The Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC) is responsible for plans to respond to specific epidemic situations and for providing guidance on epidemic prevention and environmental sanitation at venues where funeral honors are held and at hotels where delegates and foreign guests are staying.

Hospitals in the city have also been prepared with personnel and emergency teams to respond to medical situations during the funeral of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Hanoi Emergency Center 115 has three emergency teams on duty around the clock, ready to take action when needed.

Medical centers in Hai Ba Trung, Cau Giay, and Dong Anh districts coordinated with Hanoi CDC for rigorous epidemic surveillance and proactively detected local outbreaks to treat and control them during the funeral.
