Vietnam, Indonesia discuss measures for this year US$10 billion trade target

The two countries also stress focus on maritime boundary delimitation.

Top leaders of Vietnam and Indonesia on April 23 discussed measures to reach the two-way trade target of US$10 billion this year, up 22% in 2020.

The news has been released at the meeting between Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Indonesian President Joko Widodo in Jakarta on April 23.

The trade turnover is expected to be obtained with efforts to reduce Vietnam’s trade deficit, consensus reached at the meeting which took place during the ASEAN Summit at the ASEAN headquarters on April 23-24.

To support the trade, Vietnam and Indonesia agreed to resume flights and facilitate direct flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and Jakarta operated by Vietnamese airlines VietJet Air.

 The two leaders join the meeting.

They will continue cooperation in pharmaceuticals.

 The two leaders share good moments . 

Notably, the two sides will boost cooperation in sea and ocean with a focus on coast guards.

Both the leaders affirmed the need to complete negotiation on the boundary of exclusive economic zones (EEZ) between the two countries to create a legal corridor for the two sides to strengthen cooperation, reduce illegal fishing, and settle differences in sea issues.
