Vietnam, Laos sign series of agreements in Thongloun Sisoulith’s visit

An agreement on the strategic cooperation for 2021-2030 becomes the most typical consensus.

Vietnam and Laos have signed dozens of agreements during the visit to Hanoi paid by Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and President of the neighboring country.

This is Thongloun Sisoulith’s first overseas visit since taking on the Lao Party and State top jobs early this year.

Both Vietnamese and Lao media described the friendship of the two neighbors as “special” and “comprehensive.”

In the visit given to Vientiane by the CPV Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong in 2019, the two countries signed nine agreements. In the visit to Laos in 2018 paid by then Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the two sides inked 12 agreements.
