Danang Golf Tourism Festival 2023 to take place this week

The Danang Golf Tourism Festival 2023, themed "Swings catch waves of emotions", will be held from August 25 to September 2 as part of efforts to promote tourism in the beach city. The festival will highlight the BRG Open Golf Championship Danang 2023 with the participation of 144 international professional golfers. There will be a number of activities such as a city tour program, a golf stand exhibition and others.

Vietnamese community in Romania celebrates 30th anniversary

The Vietnamese Community in Romania, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Balkan country, celebrated on August 20 the 30th founding anniversary of its establishment in Bucharest, Romania.

The event attracted more than 300 delegates representing the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania, Vietnamese associations in the country and Europe, Vietnam-Romania friendship organizations, and Vietnamese expatriates. At the meeting, participants had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Vietnamese cuisine, view photo exhibitions about Vietnam, and immerse themselves in traditional art performances by the Vietnamese community in Romania.

US$8,400 raised for cleftpalate children

Nearly VND200 million (US$8,400) was raised at the MB Ageas Life Happy Ekiden 2023 running competition on August 20 to fund operations for children with cleft palates. The proceeds went to the non-profit organization Operation Smile to cover 10 surgeries.

The running competition involves around 800 families, each consisting of two parents and two children, who form a Happy Team.

Vietnamese fighters secure middleweight and lightweight boxing titles

Vietnamese professional boxer Trinh The Long defeated his Thai opponent Chayanon Phothijun by technical knockout on August 20 to win the World Boxing Council Asia middleweight championship. Prior to the final, Long had won all four of his bouts by knockout.

Vo Hong Dat, another Vietnamese fighter, won the lightweight championship after defeating Philippine fighter Ernie Sanchez.

VIMEXPO 2023 attracts over 250 supporting industrial enterprises

VIMEXPO 2023, which will run at the Hanoi International Exhibition Center from November 15 to 17, is expected to attract more than 250 domestic and foreign supporting industrial exhibitors.

The fourth exhibition will showcase products from four sectors, including automobile manufacturing and assembly, electronics, high-tech industries, machinery and related industries. It is expected to attract about 15,000 visitors.

Ministry of Transport urges speeding up of Long Thanh Airport project

The Ministry of Transport has asked the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) to develop a specific plan for each package and component of Long Thanh International Airport - Phase I and report any obstacles that may hinder the project's implementation.

ACV is also tasked to handle complaints from contractors and try to resolve them to avoid second complaints to the Ministry and the Government. The company is reminded to select the right contractors who are both technically and professionally capable of executing the project.

Each locality will have its own specialty booths on e-commerce platforms

The Department of Industry and Trade of a city or province is implementing the construction of specialty booths on e-commerce platforms, including Tiki, Lazada, and Shopee. This initiative is part of the Go Online Program, which assists farm households to place their products on e-commerce platforms.

The Information Technology Application Center under the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that each locality will set up a specialty booth on these e-commerce platforms, where all local businesses and products will be concentrated for convenient management, coordination, operation, and distribution.
